Confidence has to do with absolute trust, assurance and faith in an object or a cause. It motivates towards a courageous feat of exploits. It is a nature that is inherent in the Almighty God. Therefore, when God indwells a person, confidence becomes one of the chief attributes that is expected to be expressed passionately, according to Ephesians 3:12 (KJV): "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him".
